I just finished The Blue Castle, and you were right, I loved it! Anything by LM Montgomery is a treat. When I need a total break from current times tho, I pick out an old fashion Grace Livingston Hill fiction. I may have to skim over some of her super wordy dialogue, but it's worth it just to step back into another era, that's filled with hope and integrity.

I skip some of that too when I read books like that. I would like to read one of her books in the new year.

A twist on your entry premise - I went to the Touchstone Magazine Conference back in September. There were a number of authors among among the speakers & attendees, but mostly non-fiction. I got to chat with Rod Dreher for the second year in a row, and had a nice conversation with Vesper Stamper. (Now I need to read the book of hers I bought.) I'm currently reading through Rod's book "The Benedict Option" as part of a book group while waiting for his new book - "Living in Wonder" - to arrive. Life has been crazy as of late, & I hope to catch up with blogging & the like when I can.

I hope you can too. I know you had a lot of craziness going on for a bit there. I'm sorry it hasn't settled down. You've been on my mind lately.
