I read "A Tale of Two Cities" as an adult and I loved it. Back in the space when only 4 of the Harry Potter books had been published, a man named John Granger published a book called "Looking for God in Harry Potter" and I think he made a very convincing argument of how Harry Potter fits into the tradition of the Christian message in great British literature (and in particular, fantasy). One of the books he referenced a lot was "A Tale of Two Cities", which made me want to read it, and I was not disappointed. (He later did a book called "Harry Potter's Bookshelf" that goes deeper into the book side of it - I've got the book, but I haven't read it yet.

I think I've heard of that book but I don't think J.K. had any intention of it having a Christian message. What she doesn't know, though, is that God is in everything whether we realize it or not - darkness and light, good and evil, and light prevaling. It's all ingrained within us since he created us.

I love your newsletter! And I'm looking forward to your next book! So glad you found some great classics. I've always loved "Little Women," and other books of hers too including: "Little Men," "Jo's Boys," & "Rose in Bloom." She captured my imagination as a young girl, and I was so glad to find more of her writing later as an adult.

Lisa, I just wanted you to know your newsletter looks so lovely and professional that my first thought upon opening it was "Which publisher did I sign up for again?" It looks fantastic! And I can't wait for your first Gladwynn book!

Thank you, Kat! I am still trying to figure out how to use Substack, but it's fun trying to figure it out.
